TM Export

The TM Export allows the export of Translation Memory as a TMX file. These TMX files can be used in other systems. A TM export must be configured first. The TMX files for export can then be generated manually or automatically at regular intervals.

The permission for Translation Memory: Configure TMX Export enables the Administration > Translation Memory > TMX Export Configuration menu.

With the permission view TMX Downloads page , users can download TMX exports from the Home > TMX > Download TMX menu.

Configure TM Export

1. Click Administration > Translation Memory >TMX Export Configuration
2. Enter a name for the TMX export.
3. Select source language.
4. Select target language(s)
5. Select job group(s)
6. Optional :
   1. Activate automated execution
   2. Enter start date
   3. Select interval
7. Click Save Settings

Result: TMX Export Settings is selectable under Available Export Settings. If automated execution is activated, the export configuration is executed at the selected time and interval.

Manually generate TMX file

1. Click Administration > Translation Memory >TMX Export Configuration
2. Click the Start Now button in the Available Export Settings area.

Result: separate TMX files are generated per language pair.

TM Import

Through TM import, translation memory from other sources can be used in ONTRAM. A TMX file is required for the import. Translation memory is stored in a job group during import.

The permission Translation Memory: Import TMX Files diplays the menu item Administration > Translation Memory > TMX Import.

Import TM

1. Click Administration > Translation Memory > TMX Import
2. Upload TMX file
3. Select job group
4. Click the Import button.

Result: translation memory from the TMX file is available in the selected job group.
