TMX Export

ONTRAM allows for generating a TMX file from a job. The open XML standard TMX (Translation Memory eXchange) allows for exchanging translation memory data among various tools.

The TMX file can either be generated from the Translation Memory or from the current state of the job.

Description
Source Language The TMX file is exported with the language and country codes preconfigured in ONTRAM. For instance, the source language may be allocated with the identifier de-DE. Those pre-settings can be overwritten with the language and country codes from external translation software in order to make the exported TMX file compatible to the software.
Target Language The TMX file is exported with the language and country codes preconfigured in ONTRAM. For instance, the target language may be allocated with the identifier en-UK. Those pre-settings can be overwritten with the language and country codes from external translation software in order to make the exported TMX file compatible to the software.
Generate a TMX File from Translation Memory The translations in the TMX file are generated from the Translation Memory.
Generate a TMX File from the current Job status The translations in the TMX file are generated from the current state of the job.

Exporting TMX file

  1. Click Offline translation menu.
  2. Make the desired Settings within the Export column of the Translation Memory table.
  3. Click on Generate TMX File .

Result: The files are generated with the selected settings. When generation has been completed, a link to the generation is displayed in the generation bar at the bottom of the window.
